Hello, my name is Steph.

I regularly tutor the following subjects: Java, C#, PHP, ASP.NET, HTML, and JavaScript. I’ve also successfully helped with COBOL, Android, C, C++, JQuery, NodeJS, XML, Python, FreeBasic, and Shell, although they aren’t my specialty.

In my experience, this is better than in person tutoring. Nevertheless, I can drive almost anywhere in Ottawa to meet and work (your home, my home, public library, etc.). However, free parking is mandatory.

If you aren’t sure that I can help with a subject, ask and I will answer honestly. Naturally, I don’t want to waste anyone’s time.

I’ve been tutoring since 2013 with many very satisfied students. I’m an Algonquin College graduate of the Internet Applications and Web Development program. I’ve tutored students from Algonquin College, the University of Ottawa, Carleton University, McGill University, Concordia University, and other schools in Ontario and Quebec.

What I do:

  • Establish the student’s trust by building a relationship and maintaining confidentiality
  • If necessary, create a customized test and model a teaching strategy that is tailored to the student’s strengths and weaknesses
  • Develop new ways to explain concepts due to differences in students’ comprehension
  • Ensure that the student truly understands the concepts and is not simply replicating

RATES:

  • FREE? Some schools provide free tutoring to students with disabilities. This can often be anything from anxiety, dyslexia, physical, ADHD, etc. If you think you would qualify for that, you will need to get a counsellor with your school. Contact me for more information.
  • $32.00 / hour for tutoring remotely or at my home
  • $45.00 / hour for tutoring anywhere else
  • Discount: -10% if more than 6 hours per week (7 consecutive days, no roll-over)

I accept cash and e-transfers.
